  • 1 prepared Angel Food Cake

Strawberry Layer

  • 6 cups sliced strawberries
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

Cream Cheese Whipped Cream Layer

  • 2 8 oz packages of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest (optional)

Whipping Cream Layer

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • Rinse strawberries and slice into triangles. Place in a large bowl and sprinkle with sugar and lemon juice. Stir to combine.
  • Slice the angel food cake horizontally into 3 circles.
  • In a large stand mixer or mixing bowl combine the cream cheese, cream, sugar and vanilla. Beat until soft peaks form on the mixer.
  • In a trifle dish or large bowl place the first layer of angel food cake on the bottom. Place a few strawberries in the middle to fill the hole. For the next layer, spread on one third of the cream cheese whipped cream. Top with a layer of sliced strawberries.
  • Add another layer of angel food cake, cream cheese whipped cream and strawberries. For the last layer, lay down a slice of angel food cake and top with cream cheese whipped cream. Spread the whipped cream on top and decorate with the last of the strawberries. Serve chilled and store any leftovers in the refrigerator.

The Angel Food Cake can also be cut into one inch squares and layered if you do not have a round dish to place the cake slices in.
