Prepare pears by slicing in half and removing stem and core.
In a medium sized mixing bowl combine the butter, oats, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg and pecans. Using a pastry knife or two knives cut in the butter and mix until well combined.
Scoop the oat mixture by tablespoon into the center of each pear.
Place the pears in a cast iron skillet or 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Pour the water into the bottom of the pan. Drizzle additional honey over the pears (optional)
Bake in the heated oven for 20-30 minutes. If you notice the granola is getting too dark, place a piece of foil over the pan until the pears are soft.
Serve warm with yogurt, whipped cream or ice cream.
