Brown Sugar Glazed ham is moist and delicious on the inside and coated with a sweet glaze of brown sugar, maple syrup, apple juice and warm spices. The Brown Sugar Glaze adds a ton of flavor and just a little crunch to the outside of baked ham.
Remove all of the packaging from the ham and place ham cut side down into a roasting pan. Pour 1/4 cup water into the bottom of the pan.
Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake ham for 12-14 minutes per pound, about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Until it reaches an internal temperature of 140º F.
Remove ham from the oven and turn the heat up to 425º F. Turn the ham on its side and brush or drizzle the glaze all over the ham and in between the slices.
Place back in the oven, uncovered for 5-10 minutes, until the glaze is shiny and golden.
Brown Sugar Glaze
In a sauce pan over medium high heat combine all of the glaze ingredients. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until the sugar is dissolved.
Turn the heat down to medium and continue to boil, stirring occasionally, until the glaze has the consistency of syrup, about 7-10 minutes. Remove from the heat and brush on the ham.
Notes
Start the glaze about 10-15 minutes before the ham is done heating
