This Cast Iron Chicken Breast recipe is perfect for a quick and easy weeknight meal, or serve it as a special main course for guests. Chicken breast cooked in cast iron is seasoned with simple spices and cooked until it is tender and juicy.
In a small bowl, combine the sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.
Season chicken on both sides with seasoning mixture.
Place 12 inch cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Add oil and swirl to cover the bottom of the pan.
Cook on one side for 4-5 minutes, flip and continue to cook until internal temperature reaches 165º F. Can take another 4-5 minutes depending on the thickness of the chicken.
Remove chicken from the pan to a clean plate and cover with aluminum foil. Allow to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing or serving.
