Heat 3 tablespoons olive oil over medium-high heat, add in 2 cups cherry or grape tomatoes, season with salt and cook, stirring occasionally for 3-5 minutes, until they just start to burst.
Use a fork, wooden spoon or masher to smash the tomatoes in the pan.
Add in the 3-5 cloves garlic and cook and stir for 30 seconds until fragrant, season with additional salt if needed and black pepper. Top with 2 tablespoons fresh basil
Pour in 1/2 cup pasta water and allow the sauce to simmer until the sauce thickens. toss with 1/2 pound cooked pasta noodles and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
