Preheat oven to 450 ºF. Grease a 10.25 inch cast iron skillet. Place the 1/2 cup butter into the skillet and melt in the oven as it heats up.
Mix- the 2 cups all purpose flour, 1 cup cornmeal, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 2 tablespoons honey, and 1 teaspoon salt, stir to combine. Pour the 1 3/4 cup buttermilk into the bowl and stir just until mixed, don't over mix the dough.
Pour- the batter into the prepared pan, slice into equal squares and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
