Preheat oven to 375º F. Grease 10.25 inch cast iron skillet if needed
Place 3-4 Apples sliced in the cast iron skillet, pour on the 3 teaspoons lemon juice add in the 1/4 cup brown sugar, 3 tablespoons all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg. Stir to coat. Top with dots of 2 tablespoons butter.
In a separate mixing bowl combine the 1 1/2 cups regular oats, 1/2 cup all purpose flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1/2 cup butter. Mix with a fork or by hand until small clumps are formed and all is combined.
Sprinkle to oat topping over the apples in the cast iron skillet, covering to the edges.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the apples are bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
