These Cinnamon Biscuits with Cream Cheese Frosting are golden, flaky biscuits with a cinnamon sugar twist, like having a cinnamon roll in under 20 minutes!! The Cream Cheese Frosting is creamy and delicious and just takes these biscuits over the top!!
In a large mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt
Mix together cinnamon and sugar
In a separate bowl slice butter into cubes using a pastry knife or two knives. Add in cinnamon and sugar mixture and continue cutting until butter is pea sized and covered in cinnamon sugar.
Add butter mixture to flour and continue cutting into flour until well combined and pea sized.
Pour in butter milk and mix with a wooden spoon until a dough ball has formed. You don't want this to be stick, it should pull away from the sides of the bowl.
Place the dough on a clean, well floured surface and roll out to 1/2-3/4 inch thick. Cut out the biscuits using a glass that has been dipped in flour or a biscuit cutter. Continue cutting out biscuits and placing onto a baking sheet until all the dough has been used. Should bake about 10 biscuits.
Bake the biscuits for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the oven and allow to cool a few minutes before frosting.
Cream Cheese Frosting
With a stand or hand mixer combine the softened cream cheese, milk, powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Transfer to a zip top bag and cut off a very small piece of one corner.
Drizzle the frosting over the cooked biscuits just before serving.
