1/2 cupunsalted buttersoftened
2eggs
1cupsugar
2tablespoons milk
1teaspoonvanilla
2 1/4cupsflour
1/2teaspoonsalt
1teaspoonbaking powder
1/2teaspoonbaking soda

Preheat oven to 350º F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
In the bowl of a stand mixer or large mixing bowl cream together the butter, eggs, sugar, milk and vanilla on medium speed for about 1 minute. This will still be a little liquidy
Add in the flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Continue to mix until all of the ingredients are combine and the dough forms a ball. Scrape down the sides as needed while mixing.
Roll out the dough onto a floured surface to 1/4 inch. Cut into desired shapes and place onto the prepared baking sheet
Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, until crisp on the edges and soft in the center
Remove from the baking sheet and place onto a cooling rack. Cool completely before frosting.
