How to Cook Cast Iron Pork Tenderloin

Are you ready to make pork tenderloin in a cast iron skillet? Let’s walk through the simple steps:

  1. Prepare the pork tenderloin– start by removing the pork tenderloin from the packaging and pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. Season– combine the paprika, sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use half the seasoning mixture to season the pork tenderloin on all sides. Reserve the rest to season the potatoes and green beans.
  3. Brown the tenderloin– place the cast iron pan over medium-high heat, add the avocado oil, and cook the pork tenderloin on all sides for 2 minutes, just until browned.
  4. Cook– add the potatoes and onions to the pan around the pork tenderloin and cook in a 425º F oven for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, add in the green beans and cook an additional 10 minutes until tender.
  5. Rest– remove from the oven when the pork tenderloin has reached an internal temperature of 145º F. Allow to rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
  6. Storage– for leftovers, place into an airtight container or zip-top bag and refrigerate for up to 4 days. Freeze for up to 3 months.

Cast Iron Pork Tenderloin Recipe

Tender pork tenderloin is cooked perfectly in a cast iron pan with potatoes and green beans to make an easy dinner and one-pan meal. This pork tenderloin comes out juicy and delicious every time.

Ingredients

  • 1-1 1/2 pound pork tenderloin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 1/2 pound small golden potatoes quartered
  • 1/2 yellow onion quartered
  • 1 pound green beans

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425º F
  • Combine spices. Season tenderloin on all sides with half of the spice mixture.
  • Season the potatoes and green beans with the remaining seasoning mix
  • Heat the cast iron over medium high heat. Pour in 2 tablespoons of avocado oil and swirl it over the bottom of the pan.
  • Cook the pork tenderloin for 2 minutes per side. Add the potatoes and onions to the pan around the tenderloin, season and cook for 10 minutes in the oven.
  • Add in the green beans and cook an additional 10 minutes until the pork reaches 145º F and the potatoes are fork tender.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the tenderloin to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
