How to Freeze Uncooked Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
We like to make a batch of this cookie dough on Sunday, bake a few and freeze the rest for later in the week when we need a cookie fix.
To freeze chocolate chip cookie dough, prepare the dough as instructed. Scoop into cookie dough balls with a spoon or cookie scoop onto a cookie sheet. (Make sure it will fit in your freezer)
Place the cookie sheet into the freezer for 30-45 minutes, the dough should be hard and no longer sticky.
Put the cookie dough balls into a zip top bag or air tight container and freeze for up to 3 months.
Bake at the same temperature, but add an additional 1-2 minutes to the cooking time.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter room temperature
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs room temperature
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
- 1 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325º F, line a baking sheet with parchment paper if using
- In a stand mixer or large mixing bowl, cream together the 1 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 eggs, and 2 teaspoon vanilla. Mix on medium heat until well combined and the sugar is incorporated.
- Add in the 3 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch, and1 teaspoon coarse sea salt. Mix until a soft dough is formed. this will take a minute or two to fully come together.
- Fold in the 1 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, and 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips.
- Scoop out equally sized balls of cookie dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet, leaving at least an inch between scoops.
- Bake at 325º F for 10-12 minutes, until soft in the center with browned edges. Move to a cooling rack to chill.
