A simple chocolate chip cookie recipe is a must in everyones kitchen. This recipe makes the softest, chewiest, chocolatey cookies. Made with basic pantry ingredients, these come together quick and are perfect for a sweet treat or freeze then for future cravings.

How to Freeze Uncooked Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

We like to make a batch of this cookie dough on Sunday, bake a few and freeze the rest for later in the week when we need a cookie fix.

To freeze chocolate chip cookie dough, prepare the dough as instructed. Scoop into cookie dough balls with a spoon or cookie scoop onto a cookie sheet. (Make sure it will fit in your freezer)

Place the cookie sheet into the freezer for 30-45 minutes, the dough should be hard and no longer sticky.

Put the cookie dough balls into a zip top bag or air tight container and freeze for up to 3 months.

Bake at the same temperature, but add an additional 1-2 minutes to the cooking time.

My version of the perfect chocolate chip cookie.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
  • 1 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325º F, line a baking sheet with parchment paper if using
  • In a stand mixer or large mixing bowl, cream together the 1 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 eggs, and 2 teaspoon vanilla. Mix on medium heat until well combined and the sugar is incorporated.
  • Add in the 3 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch, and1 teaspoon coarse sea salt. Mix until a soft dough is formed. this will take a minute or two to fully come together.
  • Fold in the 1 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, and 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips.
  • Scoop out equally sized balls of cookie dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet, leaving at least an inch between scoops.
  • Bake at 325º F for 10-12 minutes, until soft in the center with browned edges. Move to a cooling rack to chill.
