Homemade pumpkin pie spice is so simple to make at home. It seems to happen every year, I go to pick up a bottle of pumpkin pie spice and the shelf is empty, it’s so frustrating, but it doesn’t need to be.
You can make your own homemade spice blend to make pumpkin pie spice. Then you will be making all your favorite pumpkin recipes making the whole house smell warm and cozy!
Spices Needed for Pumpkin Pie Spice
You will only need 5 spices to mix up your own pumpkin pie spice blend. These are most likely spices you already have around your home, it not, they are much easier to find than that one jar of pumpkin pie blend. To make this pumpkin spice mixture you will need:
- ground cinnamon– the main ingredient in any pumpkin recipe is cinnamon
- ground ginger
- ground nutmeg
- ground allspice
- ground cloves

Pumpkin Pie Spice
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions
- In a small bowl combine the spices and whisk together. Pour into a small jar with a lid and store in a dark, dry place.
