Ingredient for Honey Butter
As I mentioned above, you only need 4 ingredients to make this easy honey butter recipe. You will just mix together the following for this recipe:
- Butter– make sure that your butter is at room temperature and soft so that you can mix it easily. I prefer to use unsalted butter for this recipe and then add salt as needed for additional flavor.
- Honey– the real star of the recipe here. You can use creamed honey, or just good old liquid honey, that is what I use.
- Vanilla– pure vanilla extract adds just a touch of deliciousness to this recipe
- Sea Salt– add as needed. I usually start with just a little bit and mix it in, it easy to over salt this recipe, so use sparingly.
How to Make Honey Butter
To make this honey butter recipe, start with room temperature, softened butter. Place the butter in a mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until it is smooth.
Add in the honey and vanilla and continue to mix until they are well incorporated into the butter. Give it a little taste and mix in salt as needed. If you are using salted butter, you can skip this step.
How to Store Homemade Honey Butter
Homemade can be stored in an air tight container in the fridge for up to one month. You can also freeze honey butter for up to three months.
If you want to keep the honey butter soft, it can be left out on the counter for up to 2 days. The butter can turn rancid if left out of the fridge for too long. It will keep best if stored in the fridge.
