Pancake Ingredients
The ingredients for this easy pancake recipe are all things you most likely already have hanging around in your pantry. This classic pancake recipe takes a few ingredients and even less time to make. Here is what you will need to make these pancakes:
- Flour
- Sugar
- Salt
- Baking Soda
- Baking Powder
- Eggs
- Milk
- Butter
- Vanilla
How to make Pancakes
Now that you have gathered your ingredients, you are ready to make your own homemade pancakes. Just a little mixing and you will be ready to start cooking.
- Start by whisking together the dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and sugar) in a large mixing bowl.
- Add in the milk and stir, next stir in the eggs, melted butter and vanilla and mix until everything is well combine
- Mix by hand with a whisk, fork or even with an electric mixer
The batter can be slightly lumpy, so don’t worry if you see a few lumps in the batter.
To cook the pancakes, heat a skillet or griddle to medium heat and grease with melted butter. I like to use a 1/4 cup measuring spoon to scoop out the batter and pour it out onto the griddle.
Cook on each side for 1-2 minutes, until the pancakes are golden brown and cooked through in the center. If you are making a lot at a time, you can set your oven to 200º F and place a baking sheet on the center rack. Put cooked pancakes on the baking sheet as you cook them to keep them warm and ready to serve.
How to Store Leftover Pancakes
- Refrigerator- Pancakes can be kept fresh in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Allow the pancakes to cool before placing in an air tight container or zip top bag.
- Freezer- Allow the pancakes to cool completely before placing into a zip top bag, you don’t want any moisture to accumulate in the bag or container. Freeze pancakes for up to three months. To reheat, place in a toaster or microwave until warm.
