Breakfast Pizza

If you haven’t had a breakfast pizza, this is the one you need to make. It is so simple to make, just pile on the ingredients and bake. We all know how much we love pizza for any other meal of the day, so it only seems appropriate that we would just love pizza for breakfast. The ingredients in this pizza are all about breakfast.

When we first tried this recipe, we were a little skeptical that it would cook well with the eggs poured right on top of the uncooked dough, but everything cooked up perfectly!! This is a new favorite at our house and I hope it becomes one at yours too!

Pizza for Breakfast Ingredients

To make pizza for breakfast you will need a few simple ingredients that you will be able to easily find at the local grocery store. To make this breakfast pizza, you will need:

  • Crescent Roll Sheet– you know the crescent rolls in a can? They also come in a sheet, so you can just roll it out onto the baking sheet. If you can not find the sheet, just pick up a can of the regular crescent rolls and roll that out onto the pan.
  • Sausage- pick up a package of regular breakfast sausage that is not already formed into links. If you would like to add a little spice, you can use a mild-hot sausage.
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Spices– salt, pepper and garlic powder
  • Cheese– both Parmesan and Sharp Cheddar are used in this recipe
  • Hash Browns– just pick up a bag from the freezer section
  • Spinach
  • Red Pepper

How to make Breakfast Pizza

Here’s how to make this simple breakfast pizza. For a printable recipe or more step by step instructions, scroll down to the recipe card.

  • Start by spreading the crescent dough out into the baking sheet. I am using a jelly roll sized baking sheet, 10 x 15 inches. Press the edge of the dough against the sides of the pan to seal the edge of the dough to the pan. When the eggs are poured over the dough, you don’t want any leaking under the dough.
  • Cook the sausage in a separate pan over medium heat until cooked through. Crumble the sausage over the crescent dough.
  • Add the hash browns over the dough.
  • In a mixing bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, spices, spinach, red pepper and the parmesan cheese. Pour this carefully over the pizza being careful not to get too close to the edges. Use a spatula to spread it out if needed
  • Lastly, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the egg mixture
  • Bake for 25 minutes at 375º F, until the eggs are cooked and the dough is golden brown around the edges

This looks perfect for a visit from the grandkids, too. Question? Could this work with biscuit dough as well, if rolled out thin?

    1. I haven’t tried this recipe with biscuit dough, but I honestly think it would work. Let me know if you give it a try.
