This recipe for homemade taco seasoning can be used to replace one packet of store bought taco seasoning. Just mix the spices together and sprinkle over one pound of cooked meat for taco night. This is my go to taco seasoning recipe for so many recipes. It is perfect for soups, making a simple taco salad and of course a big batch of seasoned ground beef for a taco bar.

  • onion powder
  • paprika
  • cumin

  • black
  • pepper
  • cayenne
  • oregano

How to make Taco Seasoning

Now get out your pen and paper, because you might need to take some notes to make this recipe……NOT!! To make this homemade taco seasoning, simply combine the spices together in a small bowl and mix until they are well blended.

To add the taco seasoning to meat, simply sprinkle the seasoning mixture over 1 pound of cooked meat. Add 2-3 tablespoons of water the the pan and stir the meat until it is well coated. Cook for 2-3 minutes and then serve with your favorite taco fixings.

Taco Seasoning Recipe

Homemade Taco Seasoning is so easy to make with just a few simple ingredients from the spice rack. Perfect for adding to cooked ground beef, chicken, pork or even turkey.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne (or more to taste)
  • 1 tsp oregano

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the spices and stir until mixed together.

Notes

  • Sprinkle over 1 pound of cooked meat, add 2-3 tablespoons of water, cook and stir for an addition 2-3 minutes.
