Magic Cookie Bars

Magic Cookie Bars are a super simple dessert, perfect for a quick treat or last minute dessert. We love making these for friendly get togethers and family parties! They come together really quickly and we always have these ingredients on hand. I like to keep shredded coconut and nuts in the freezer just for those last minute moments when we need a treat….and that happens often!!

How to Make Magic Cookie Bars

To make these cookie bars I start by putting 1/2 cup of butter in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and let it melt in the oven while it comes up to temperature. While the butter is melting gather up the rest of the ingredients and crush the graham crackers finely in a zip top bag or in a food processor.

Keep an eye on the butter so that it does not brown, you just want it melted. Remove it from the oven and add in the graham cracker crumbs. Combine them and press into the bottom of the baking dish to form the bottom layer of the magic cookie bars.

The next layer is the sweetened condensed milk, pour this over the top of the graham cracker crust until it is all covered. Sprinkle on the coconut, chocolate chips and nuts and press them into the milk layer.

Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown. That’s it, it really is like magic how easy these are to make.
