Homemade Pizza Sauce

This recipe for homemade pizza sauce is so quick to put together. Just dump everything in a bowl and mix up. This pizza sauce is for more than just making a pizza on the weekend. We love using this pizza sauce for dipping breadsticks, garlic knots/bread or of course for a good old cast iron pizza.

All you need to make this simple pizza sauce for homemade pizza is tomato sauce, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper and some Italian seasonings. These are all ingredients we keep stocked in the pantry and spice cupboard for a quick pizza night.

This recipe is also one you can assign to one of the kids to make while you are making the dough. This is a simple recipe for little hands to help with since there is no cooking involved, just measure, dump and stir.

How to Store Pizza Sauce

This pizza sauce can be made ahead of when you will need it. Mix together the ingredients and store in and air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days before you will be using it.

If you would like to freeze this pizza sauce, I suggest that you place it in a zip top bag, flatten out and then freeze for up to 4 months. Freezing it flat makes thawing it out so much easier when you are ready to use it. Thaw in the refrigerator, a pan over medium heat or in the microwave. Don’t forget to label you bag before placing in the freezer.
