Pumpkin Spice Bundt Cake is a simple Fall dessert. I just love making bundt cakes because they always look so pretty and fancy. I really just need to work on my glazing skills!! You are going to love how easy this is to make and how much everyone is going to love it.
What is a Bundt Cake?
A Bundt cake is a cake that is made in a Bundt pan, which makes it almost like a doughnut. Bundt cake pans come in many different shapes and forms. My pan is one that I got from my grandma and you can tell it has been around a while, and I love it.
You can really make any kind of cake into a Bundt, it just makes it look beautiful and so easy to slice into perfect slices.
How to make Pumpkin Cake in a Bundt Pan
This cake can be ready and in the oven in just a few simple steps, definitely a no stress dessert!
- First, combine the Spice Cake Mix and pumpkin puree. Simply stir these together in a large mixing bowl. Make sure the puree and cake mix are well combined. The cake batter will not be runny, but more of a thick texture.
- Next, grease a bundt pan with cooking spray, butter or grease. Make sure all of the edges within the pan are greased, this will make it so much easier to remove cleanly from the pan when it is done cooking.
- Pour the cake batter into the greased pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula inside the pan.
- Bake the cake in a 350ºF for 38-45 minutes. Check for doneness by using a toothpick, if it comes out clean after being poked into the cake, your cake is done. Allow the cake to cool for 5-10 minutes in the pan before removing and adding icing.
How to make Bundt Cake Icing
To top this pumpkin cake off, we are going to make a simple vanilla glaze.
- To make the glaze, combine powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract in a medium sized bowl. Mix with a fork or a whisk until it slides slowly from the tines of the fork. You don’t want the icing to be too thin, or it will just run right of the cake, or too thick because then it will just plop on top of the cake.
- If the icing is too thin, add a pinch more powdered sugar
- If it is too thick, add a little more milk
How to Frost a Bundt Cake
Place the bundt cake on a cooling rack. For the icing, you can either drizzle it on with a fork or a spoon. Dip your utensil into the icing and then quickly move it back and forth over the top of the cake.
Another option is to pour the icing around the top of the cake and let it drip down.

Other Crowd Pleasing Desserts:
I have made this twice. One time I put butterscotch chips on the top. The second time I put butterscotch chips and mini chocolate chips right into the bowl. Came out delicious!
That sounds delicious!! I will definitely have to try adding the butterscotch and chocolate chips when I make this again! Thanks so much for your comment!
A question..how to make this recipe in mini bundt pans.
What a great idea! I would cook them at the same temperature for 20-25 minutes.
Can you cook it in a different type of pan if you don’t have a Bundt cake pan? If so what type/size pan?
Yes, you can make this in a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and cook for 20-25 minutes
