Air fryers are perfect for making things quickly, cooking frozen foods is one of our go tos. We love it especially during the summer months when it is just too hot to turn on the oven, the air fryer works just like the oven and is so convenient.
How to make Baked Potatoes in the Air Fryer
The first step to making baked potatoes in the air fryer is to get the air fryer preheating. Set the air fryer to 400ºF and allow to heat while you are washing and prepping the potatoes.
Use medium sized baking/Russett potatoes for this recipe. Scrub the potatoes clean and remove any dirt from the skin. Rub the skin on the outside of each potato with a little olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt.
This makes a nice crisp skin on the outside of the potatoes when they are done baking and the sea salt adds just the perfect amount of flavor.
After the potatoes have been coated in olive oil on the outside and seasoned with sea salt, pierce the skin one or two times with a fork before placing into the basket of the air fryer.
Place the potatoes into the basket of the air fryer, being sure that they are not crowded. Place the basket back into the air fryer and set the timer for 35 minutes.
If your air fryer has a turn reminder option, turn that on. If it does not, turn the potatoes half way through the baking time at about 17 minutes.
After 35 minutes, check to see if the potatoes are cooked through by poking with a fork. If the fork slides easily into the flesh of the potato, it is done.
If you feel that the potatoes are still hard in the center, cook them for an additional 5-10 minutes, until tender. The potatoes will be very hot at this point, allow them to sit for just a few minutes before serving.
