Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs are so easy to make and take less than 20 minutes. No boiling water required.

Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs come out perfectly cooked every time..and no boiling water required. Making Hard Boiled Eggs in an Air Fryer is so easy and very hands off. All you really need to do to make hard boiled eggs in an air fryer is set the temperature and a timer, couldn’t be easier.

Other Air Fryer recipes we love are these Air Fryer Chicken Taquitos or these Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges.

Using the air fryer to make simple things like these hard boiled eggs is just the best. I love that I don’t even have to turn the stove on or have a pot of boiling water I need to worry about with kids around. Also, I love this method because my kids can do this on their own and I don’t need to worry that they are going to get burned from the hot water. Such a win win!!

How to make Hard Boiled Eggs in an Air Fryer

My air fryer is a 6 quart basket, which can fit up to six eggs at a time, which is just perfect for our family. Place the cold eggs into the basket of an air fryer. Do not preheat the air fryer before placing the eggs into the basket.

Once the basket has been replaced into the air fryer, set the temperature to 270º F and the timer for 16 minutes.

Now this is where we might have a differing of opinions. I like my hard boiled egg yolk cooked all the way through, I know there are also some people who would prefer it be a bit softer in the center and if that is you, you can set the timer for a shorter amount of time, or even do a little of your own experimenting to get your egg cooked exactly as you like it. I always cook my eggs for the full 16 minutes.

As soon as the timer goes on, plunge the eggs into an ice water bath; this is just a big bowl of cold water and ice cubes that will cool down the eggs and stop the cooking.

To remove the eggs from the basket of your air fryer just use some tongs, if you don’t own any tongs a large spoon should work as well. Just be cautious as the eggs and the basket will be very hot.

One last tip that is always good to remember is to use eggs that are at least 3 days, up to a week old. The older eggs will peel a lot easier.

To peel the shell from the eggs, tap the egg on a countertop or hard surface, cracking the shell on all sides. Carefully peel the shell from the egg and discard. Rinse the egg under water to remove any remaining small pieces of shell from the outside of the cooked egg.

How to Store Hard Boiled Eggs

Unpeeled hard boiled eggs will last for at least 1 week in the fridge. Store in egg carton or plastic container. Peel just before serving.

Oh no!! I have never had that happen. Were the eggs cold when you started them? This is how I usually start them, from cold.

You could try it at 300 and only cook for about 12 minutes. I would also just try one egg to test it.
