Air Fryer Chicken Wings are so easy to make and come out crunchy and perfectly cooked. We are having way too much frying fun with our new air fryer. We just had to put my new gadget to the test, and what better food to test out than chicken wings! The whole fam was in on this one!
Prepping Chicken Wings
The recipe for these chicken wings is simple to put together. Just coat the wings in Olive oil and season with some sea salt and pepper. The oil helps crisp up the skin while it is frying in air!
We have become slightly obsessed with air frying things these days, but these wings are definitely our favorites so far!
Air Fryer Chicken Wings
Our air fryer is just a little guy, 1.5 L, so we can only do about 5-6 wings at a time. I am now in the market for a larger one so we can make bigger batches.
The wings go in the air fryer at 380ºF for 25 minutes, make sure to stop it half way through and flip all of the wings over so they get crisp on all sides. At the end of the cycle, give the wings one more flip and crank up the heat to 400ºF for 5 more minutes.
Check out how golden and crispy that skin is!!! YUM!! While these were cooking the last few minutes we threw together a delicious sweet and spicy Pineapple Barbecue Sauce (recipe below) that we coated the finished wings with!
Air Fryer Chicken Wings With Pineapple Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients
- 5-6 Chicken Wings
- 2 tsp Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Sea Salt
- 1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper
Pineapple Barbecue Sauce
- 1 Cup Prepared Barbecue Sauce
- 1/4 Cup Pineapple Juice (from can of tidbits, pieces of pineapple can be included)
- 1/2 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
Instructions
- Prepare chicken wings for air fryer by patting wings dry with a paper towel. Pour olive oil over chicken wings and stir to coat. Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper.
- Place chicken wings in fryer pan in air fryer in a single layer. Turn temperature to 380ºF and cook for 25 minutes, stopping the fryer mid way to flip wings.
- Flip wings again and turn the heat up to 400ºF for another 5 minutes. Prepare the sauce during this last cooking time.
Pineapple Barbecue Sauce
- In a small sauce pan combine all ingredients over medium high heat. Once the sauce begins to boil, turn heat to low and allow to simmer 5 minutes, until it thickens.
- Spoon sauce over wings in a large mixing bowl and toss to coat.
