How to Make Air Fryer Roasted Salsa
This is a simple homemade roasted salsa recipe. To make this recipe you will need to do the following:
- First you will need to prepare a few of the vegetables. Remove the seeds and ribs from the jalapeno and slice it in halves. (If you would like a more spicy salsa, you can leave some or all of the seeds in the jalapeno). Peel and slice the onion, you will only need 1/4 for this recipe.
- Leave the skin on the garlic cloves, this will help them from burning when roasting.
- Drizzle Olive Oil over the vegetables and place in the basket of an air fryer.
- Turn the air fryer to 400ºF and roast the vegetables for 15-20 minutes.
- When the vegetables are beautifully roasted, transfer to a blender or food processor. Add salt, sugar and cilantro and blend until smooth, or desired consistency. If you don’t have a blender, you can mash with a potato masher or slice everything with a knife.
- Serve warm or cold with tortilla chips.

Easy Roasted Salsa Recipe for the Air Fryer
Equipment
Ingredients
- 2 large tomatoes
- 1/4 white onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 jalapeno
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 bunch cilantro (about 3/4 cup)
- 1-2 tsp lime juice
Instructions
- Prepare the vegetables by peeling and slicing the onion into one quarter. Remove 2 cloves of garlic from the bulb and leave them in the skin.
- Slice the top off the jalapeno and remove the ribs and seeds by running a paring knife around the inside of the jalapeno around the sides. The seeds and ribs should pull away from the side and dump out when the jalapeno is turned upside down. If you want a spicier salsa, you can leave the seeds and ribs in the jalapeno. Slice the jalapeno in half.
- Drizzle olive oil over all of the vegetables.
- Place in the basket of an air fryer.
- Turn the temperature to 400ºF. Fry for 15 minutes, until vegetables are charred.
- Remove vegetables from air fryer basket and place in a blender or food processor. Add in cilantro, salt, sugar and lime juice. Blend until smooth or desired consistency.
- Please feel free to add more or less salt, lime juice to taste.

Love this recipe! Can this be frozen? Would like to make a big batch and have some for later!
I’m so happy you like this recipe! This recipe can be easily frozen to use later. Make sure it air tight and I would thaw in the refrigerator the day before you want to use it.
