Garlic Honey Chicken

This Honey Garlic or Garlic Honey Chicken Recipe is the perfect blend of sweet and savory. This chicken recipe is perfect for those busy weeknights when you only have a few minutes to throw something together for dinner.

We love to serve this over a bed of white or brown rice with a side of broccoli and a fruit salad. While I prefer to make this recipe with chicken breast, this sauce would also be delicious on chicken thighs or even chicken legs.

How to make Honey Garlic Chicken

To make this Honey Garlic Chicken Recipe start by first, slicing the chicken breasts into two halves. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add in some oil for cooking. I like to use either avocado oil or olive oil.

Brown the chicken on both sides until it is cooked through and no longer pink on the inside. To make sure you chicken is always cooked perfectly, I recommend using an instant read thermometer and cook the chicken to 165º F.

While the chicken cooks, combine together the ingredients for the Honey Garlic Sauce. Once the chicken is done, pour the sauce over the chicken breasts and bring the sauce up to a simmer. Allow to cook for 3-5 minutes, until the sauce thickens.

Garnish the chicken with green onion and sesame seeds and serve over warm rice, be sure to drizzle extra sauce over the chicken before serving.

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts sliced in half
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil (cooking oil)

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken on both sides until cooked through and has an internal temperature of 165º F
  • While chicken is cooking, whisk together the ingredients for the honey garlic sauce.
  • Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken and continue to cook for 3-5 minutes, until the sauce thickens.

  • Serve over rice
