Air Fryer Brussel Sprouts are so simple to make, only take a few ingredients and make a delicious vegetable side dish to any meal. Brussel sprouts cooked in the air fryer come out cooked to tender perfection in the center with a delicious crispy, caramelized outer shell. Roasting Brussel Sprouts in the air fryer adds delicious flavor.
The air fryer has become one of the most used appliances in our kitchen these days. It is so convenient to use, cooks things quickly and easy enough for my kids to use. I don’t fear that they are going to burn themselves like I am when they use the oven. You can really cook anything in the air fryer, believe me, we have experimented with it all.
Using the air fryer to make these brussel sprouts has been one of my favorites so far. Brussel sprouts are one of those controversial vegetables, either you love them or you hate them. I am a lover, not a hater when it comes to brussel sprouts, especially when they are roasted this way.
If you don’t own an air fryer check out my recipe for Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts.
How to Cook Brussel Sprouts in an Air Fryer
To cook brussel sprouts in the air fryer, start by slicing the bottom off of the brussel sprouts and slicing in half. Remove any outside leaves that are browned or have holes in them. Rinse the brussel sprouts clean under cold water and drain off any excess water.
Place the sliced brussel sprouts into a clean bowl.
Next, drizzle the brussel sprouts with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Toss to coat all of the brussel sprouts.
While you are preparing the brussel sprouts, preheat the air fryer to 400º F. The air fryer I use, just has a basket that you insert into the air fryer to make it cook, so I just place the brussel sprouts right into the basket.
If you have an air fryer with a pan, spread the brussel sprouts evenly onto the pan before placing into your air fryer.
How Long to Cook Brussel Sprouts in the Air Fryer
Place the prepared brussel sprouts into the air fryer and cook for 20-25 minutes, giving them a toss every 5-10 minutes. The brussel sprouts should be fork tender, a fork should easily poke into the center of the brussel sprout. The outside leaves will be nice and toasted and crispy.
