How to Roast Brussel Sprouts

To make this simple roasted brussel sprouts recipe start by preparing the brussel sprouts. Slice the bottom off of the brussel sprouts and peel away any of the loose, browned leaves from the outside of the brussel sprouts.

Wash the brussel sprouts to remove any dirt that may still be on them. Slice the brussel sprouts into halves lengthwise.

Place the cleaned and sliced brussel sprouts on a greased or parchment lined baking sheet. To season the brussel sprouts, drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper. Give the brussel sprouts a toss to make sure they are all coated in olive oil and salt and pepper.

Bake the brussel sprouts in a 400ºF oven for 25-30 minutes. While the brussel sprouts are baking be sure to open the oven every 7-10 minutes to given them a quick toss. Just do this by shaking the pan an few times and then let them get back to baking.

The brussel sprouts are done when they have become tender, you can test this by poking with a fork, or just take one out and give it a taste. You want the outside to be nice and toasted and crispy, it adds so much flavor.

What to Serve with Brussel Sprouts

These brussel sprouts are so good on their own, you could just make these the whole meal….but they also go really well with the following dishes, this is our favorite way to eat them.

  • Grilled Teriyaki Chicken
  • Cast Iron Tri Tip Roast
  • Easy Baked Salmon
  • Soy Ginger Flank Steak
