Blossom Cookies are rich, chocolatey cookies that are perfect for topping with any variety of Hershey's Kisses. These Chocolate Blossom Cookies are very much like a Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie with a soft cookie base, topped with a delicious Kiss. The Chocolate Cookie base for this Chocolate Blossom Cookie Recipe has just a touch of peppermint for the perfect chocolate mint flavor.

If you are looking for a simple cookie that you can make a big batch of for those cookie parties, Holiday treats or even to share as a neighbor Christmas gift, this is it! This cookie looks adorable with the red and white striped Kiss on top of that delicious chocolate cookie. This one looks like you took all day putting together to make it just right, but really, this is such an easy cookie to make. You will come back to it over and over.

Tips for Making Blossom Cookies

  • Start with room temperature butter. You want the butter to be soft, not melted.
  • If your butter is still too cold, you can use a cheese grater to grate the butter into the mixing bowl, this will allow the butter to get soft quickly
  • Cream together the butter, sugars, egg, vanilla and peppermint extract.

  • Once you have the butter and sugars all mixed together, sift in the dry ingredients. I like to do this by placing a metal strainer right over the bowl with the butter mixture. Add all of the dry ingredients into the strainer and then shake it to sift the dry ingredients into the mixing bowl.
  • To make uniform sized cookies, use a cookie scoop to scoop and shape the dough into a small ball and place onto an un-greased baking sheet.

Baking Blossom Cookies

Bake the cookies in a 350º F oven for 7-10 minutes. They will be soft in the center and nice and crisp on the edges. Remove the cookies from the oven when they are done baking and place onto a cooling rack. Allow to cool for 3-5 minutes before placing a Kiss into the center of the cookie.
