How to make Cast Iron Pizza

Ingredients

  • Pizza Dough – Use homemade pizza dough or store-bought.
  • Pizza Sauce – Mix up a homemade sauce, or jarred pizza sauce works well too.
  • Cheese – Mozzarella is a must, but feel free to mix in provolone, parmesan, or cheddar.
  • Toppings – Pepperoni, sausage, veggies, olives, pineapple, chicken, or whatever you love.
  • Olive Oil & Garlic Salt – For brushing the crust to add great flavor.

Step by Step Instructions

Make the Dough: combine flour, salt, yeast, sugar, water and olive oil into a soft ball. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes.

Preheat the Cast Iron: Heat the cast iron pan in a 450º F in the oven. This will help make that crispy crust.

Assemble the Pizza: Grease the pan with olive oil if needed. Roll out half of the dough and place it into the bottom of the pan, carefully.

With your dough in the pan, top it with pizza sauce, cheese, and all your favorite toppings! Brush the crust with olive oil and sprinkle with a little garlic salt.

Bake the Pizza: Place it into the blazing hot oven and bake for 13-15 minutes, until the crust is golden brown, the cheese is melted and the pepperoni is crispy around the edges..YUM!!

Slice and Serve: Carefully take the pan from the oven, you should be able to slide the pizza right from the pan onto a clean counter or cutting board.

Slice into two slices, one for you and one for you!! I’m kidding, you can get at least 8 good slices out of this pizza.
