Easy Drop Biscuit Recipe Ingredients

To make this simple biscuit recipe, you will only need a few ingredients, most likely items you already have in your home. You will need:

  • All purpose flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Salt
  • Butter, make sure it is cold. You can put it in the freezer for a few minutes before you make the recipe, or be sure to pull it from the refrigerator right before making the recipe.
  • Garlic Powder
  • Parsley, dried

For the Butter Topping

  • Butter
  • Garlic Powder
  • Parsley, dried

How to make Garlic Cheese Biscuits

In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients and whisk to break up any lumps in the dry ingredients. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry knife, two knives or a cheese grater. This should look like course sand at this point with the pieces of butter all being coated with the flour mixture.

Once the butter and flour are combined, add in the cheese and stir to coat. Pour in the cold milk or buttermilk and stir until the biscuit dough forms. The dough will be sticky at this point, but that is what you are looking for.

Drop the dough onto a baking sheet using two spoons to scoop up the dough and drop it onto the baking sheet. Bake until golden brown.

Garlic Butter Topping

While the biscuits are baking, prepare the garlic butter topping by mixing together melted butter, garlic powder and parsley. This step is optional, but I would absolutely encourage you not to skip this step. The garlic butter add SO much flavor to these biscuits, you will definitely miss it if you don’t use it!
