How to make Almond Crescent Cookies
To make Almond Cookies, start by creaming together softened butter and shortening. In the bowl of a stand mixer or in a mixing bowl with an electric mixer, beat the butter and shortening until smooth.
Add in the sugar and mix until the sugar is well combined.
Add in the chopped almonds, flour and salt. Mix with the mixer or beaters. The dough will be like a big bowl of crumbs. Take your hand and scoop the dough into a ball. Cover or wrap in plastic wrap for at least 30 minutes.
Take of pieces of dough and roll out into pencil thin pieces. Cut the rolls into 2 1/2 long pieces and gently fold into a crescent shape. Place on a baking sheet and bake in a 325º F oven for 14-16 minutes. The cookies will be golden around the edges when they are done.
While the cookies are still warm, toss them into the mixture of powdered sugar and cinnamon. That is it, your delicious Almond Crescent Cookies are done.
How to Store Cookies
To store these Almond Cookies, place them in an air tight container for up to 3 days on the counter or in a cookie jar.

Can you explain what’s the shortening please
Thank you
Of course, shortening is a solid fat that is used in baking. It is sometimes called lard or vegetable shortening. If you can not find shortening at your local store, you can substitute butter in this recipe.
Can you keep them in refrigator if it going to be a week before you serve them
I will usually freeze them on a baking sheet and then place in an air tight container or zip top bag and back into the freezer. Then just take them out and thaw on the counter the day before you are going to need them.
