Baked Chicken Thighs
It’s amazing to me how simple it is to add a few spices, a little oil, pop the pan in the oven and then come back after a few minutes to crispy, delicious chicken. This chicken thigh recipe really is just that easy and the whole fam will rave about how delicious the chicken is.
We love cooking with chicken thighs because they are so affordable and, personally, I think that thighs have so much flavor and they always come out moist and never dried out like chicken breasts often do. Make a few extra to use for another recipe later in the week, or for lunch tomorrow!
Chicken Thigh Seasoning
Just a few simple spices is all you will need to add so much flavor to this chicken thigh recipe. I also like to use bone-in, skin on chicken thighs, but you can use boneless, skinless chicken thighs if you prefer. The spices you will need to make this recipe are:
- Paprika
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Sea Salt
- Black Pepper
- Parsley
Simply combine the spices to make a delicious spice rub and sprinkle over oil rubbed chicken thighs. If you are wanting a premixed spice rub check out this Chicken Rub from Hey Grill Hey.
How Long to Bake Chicken Thighs
These oven baked chicken thigh took about 25 minutes to cook through when baked at 375º F. If your chicken thighs are thicker, you might need to cook for a bit longer until they are cooked through, and no longer pink inside.
How can I tell if my Chicken Thighs are done?
The most accurate way to tell if the chicken is done and cooked all the way through is with a meat thermometer. Using an instant read thermometer assures that the chicken has reached a safe temperature and also is not over cooked.
For chicken, the internal temperature should reach 165º F according to the USDA safe handling guide for poultry.
This is the meat thermometer I use; Thermapen ONE
