Getting the fam to eat vegetables, especially this brain-like one can be a challenge! A few things I have learned raising my kids and husband is:
- if it’s out and available they will eat it- I always have a vegetable on the table. Sometimes it even makes it to the table before we eat and my kids will eat it before dinner has even officially started.
- always make it an option-when you are planning your meals, plan to always have a vegetable and a fruit as an option.
For example, when I am planning our meals, I always plan to have a veggie, fruit, protein and a grain. It just makes it simple. We have experimented with a lot of veggies over the years and have come to a few that we go back to daily and this oven roasted cauliflower is definitely one of them.

How to make Oven Roasted Cauliflower
To make this simple oven roasted cauliflower recipe, start by chopping the cauliflower into small florets. This is done by first removing the cauliflower head from stem and any leaves. Using a sharp knife, slice close to the cauliflower head to remove the stem.
Once you have removed the stem from the cauliflower head, you can easily break off pieces of the cauliflower with your hands. Simple snap them by pressing down and away from the center. You can use a sharp knife to continue to slice the cauliflower into smaller floret sizes. Chop off any large stem pieces if you don’t want to use those.
Place the cauliflower florets into a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss to coat all of the florets.
Combine the ingredients for the cauliflower seasoning and toss with the cauliflower until it is well coated.
Spread the seasoned cauliflower onto a greased baking sheet. Bake in a 400ºF oven for 12-15 minutes, flipping half way through the cooking time.
The cauliflower is done when it is poked with a fork and the fork easily goes into the cauliflower flesh.
If you would like the cauliflower to be more crispy, you can place it under the broiler for 2-3 minutes before serving.
Buying Cauliflower
Just a few tips when picking out a cauliflower. Whether you are buying a whole cauliflower head, or pre-chopped florets, you will want to look for pieces that are white. I know that’s obvious. What you don’t want to see are rust colored or black pieces on the florets. Also, make sure none of the florets are soft or slimey and you should be good!
