Ingredients
It truly is so quick and easy to make these peanut butter no bake cookies at home and you most likely have all of these ingredients already on hand. Here is what you will need to make this recipe:
- Butter: All good cookies start with butter. It doesn’t matter for this recipe if your butter is cold or at room temperature. You can use salted or unsalted.
- Sugar: adds all the sweetness that makes us all crave these cookies
- Cocoa Powder: You can use a basic cocoa or go with a stronger Dutch chocolate for a richer taste.
- Milk: This helps bring all the flavors together as they cook and dissolve in the pan.
- Peanut Butter: A good, solid creamy, or crunchy peanut butter works best. I don’t suggest using natural peanut butter because of the extra oil, the cookies don’t set up as well.
- Vanilla: True vanilla not vanilla extra will add the best flavor
- Oats: Regular, whole oats give these cookies the best texture
How to Make No Bake Cookies
The process of making this recipe for no-bake cookies is so easy. Follow my quick steps and instructions and you will have treats on your tongue in no time.
- Start on the Stovetop: In a saucepan over medium heat combine the butter, sugar, cocoa, and milk. Bring this mixture to a boil and allow to boil for 1 minute, stirring frequently.
- Add the Remaining Ingredients: Take the pot from the stove and stir in the peanut butter, vanilla, and oats.
- Form the Cookies: Scoop the cookies out onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Two spoons can be used to scoop the cookie dough and drop it onto the baking sheet, or use a cookie scoop.
- Cool the Cookies: Allow the cookies to cool on the pan, or make the process quicker and place the pan in the freezer.
Easy No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies
Now that you have got the cookies scooped and on the baking sheet, sit back and put your feet up. All you have to do now is wait until the cookies cool and the chocolate sets. Depending on the temperature in your home, this can take as little as 10 minutes.
Quick Tip
To speed up the process and get those cookies in your belly faster, the sheet pan can be placed in either the refrigerator or the freezer until the chocolate hardens and is set.
Cookie Storage
Store these cookies in an air-tight container on the counter for up to 3 days. These can also be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
If you want to keep them around longer, throw them into the freezer for up to 3 months, these are so good frozen!!
