Where Can I Buy Mizithra Cheese?
Now a days it seems that every store has a specialty cheese section! Look there!! I have even seen it at Costco. I like to buy it in a small wedge, grate it and freeze what I don’t use, so I always have some on hand.
This is an easy go to recipe when you have company stop by or have a house full of hungry teenagers and 10 of their friends, which is a natural occurrence around here! You will impress them all with your cooking skills!!!
Serve this with some GARLIC BUTTER BROCCOLI or a simple SIDE SALAD.

Browned Butter and Mizithra Cheese Recipe
Ingredients
- 16 ounces Thin Spaghetti Pasta
- 1 cup butter, salted
- 1 cup Mizithra cheese, grated
- 1 tbsp pasta water
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions in salted water. Reserve a tablespoon of pasta water for browned butter sauce.
- In a large skillet melt butter and bring to a boil continuously stirring until butter is bubbly, brown and fragrant. (it will almost smell like caramel and will be a dark brown color)
- Add cooked pasta and tablespoon of pasta water to skillet, toss to cover in browned butter. Sprinkle with mizithra, salt and pepper and parsley.
- Serve from the skillet or transfer to a large platter or bowl! Enjoy!!
